Investment Team

Robert G. Calton III
Prior to founding Summit Park, Mr. Calton was a Partner at Wachovia Capital Partners (and its predecessor First Union Capital Partners) where he was responsible for investments in the manufacturing and service industries. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Shareholder at Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co., a leading middle market merger and acquisition advisory firm. Prior to attending graduate business school, he was in the investment banking division at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York, NY and in the venture capital business at Morgan Stanley Research Ventures in San Francisco, CA.

Mr. Calton currently serves as a Director of Control Company, Parkline and NSi. He previously served as the Chairman of Sentry Security Systems and as a Director of Charter Brokerage Holdings, U.S. Salt Holdings, and KnowledgePlanet.

Mr. Calton is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the Harvard Business School.

James L. Johnson, Jr.
Prior to founding Summit Park, Mr. Johnson was a Partner at Windward Capital Partners, a New York-based middle market private equity firm, where he was employed since the firm’s inception in 1995. As a Partner at Windward, he was instrumental in investing approximately $125 million of capital and achieving realized returns in excess of 2.2 times that amount. Prior to joining Windward, Mr. Johnson was in the media investment banking group at CS First Boston. From 1984 to 1990, he worked at BellSouth Corporation first as a Systems Analyst and later in National Account Sales.

Mr. Johnson currently serves as a Director of Control Company, Parkline and NSi. Previously, he served as Chairman of Charter Brokerage Holdings and as a Director of Pressure Systems, Retriever Payment Systems, Tycom Corporation, Adplex-Rhodes, eMag Solutions, Sentry Security Systems, and L. Powell Company.

Mr. Johnson received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and mathematics from Vanderbilt University, and graduated with honors from the Columbia Business School.

Christopher K. Cotton.
Prior to joining Summit Park, Mr. Cotton was a Partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP where he provided attest and financial advisory services primarily to middle market companies in the consumer and industrial products industries. His responsibilities included annual financial statement audits and capital market transaction advisory services, buy-side accounting and tax due diligence services and business process advisory services to assist clients in optimizing processes from a controls and efficiency perspective. Prior to Deloitte, Mr. Cotton spent 11 years at Arthur Andersen LLP where he rose to the rank of Senior Manager.

Matthew D. Magan
Prior to re-joining Summit Park, Mr. Magan worked at TZP Group, a New York-based middle market private equity firm with over $500 million AUM, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in the business and consumer services sectors. Previously, he worked as an Associate at Summit Park where he focused on the sourcing, execution and portfolio management of lower middle market investments. Prior to initially joining Summit Park, he was the interim COO of a food processing company that he co-founded with his father focused on soups, sauces and prepared meals. Previously, Mr. Magan was an investment banking analyst at Wachovia Securities. During graduate business school, Mr. Magan was a Summer Associate at LLR Partners, a middle market private equity firm with over $2.0 billion AUM, where he focused on evaluating investments in the consumer and education sectors.

Mr. Magan received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Finance, and a Masters in Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management.

Nathan E. Zsolcsak
Prior to joining Summit Park, Mr. Zsolcsak was a Financial Analyst in Houlihan Lokey’s Industrials Group where he advised on M&A, financing and restructuring transactions in the metals, transportation and diversified industrials sectors. Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Zsolcsak was an Associate in the Audit and Assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, NY.

Mr. Zsolcsak graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Accountancy from the Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.

Rachel E. Hannon
Prior to joining Summit Park, Ms. Hannon was an Associate with Clark Wolf Company in New York, NY, which provides consulting services to the food and beverage industry. Previously, Ms. Hannon was a Financial Analyst at Orrick, Herrington & Suttcliffe LLP where she worked closely with senior management to develop analytical tools to support the monitoring and evaluation of firm profitability. Prior to joining Orrick, Ms. Hannon was a Financial Analyst at Harris Williams & Co. where she advised on M&A transactions primarily in the healthcare and life sciences industry.

Ms. Hannon graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Politics from Washington and Lee University, and was a captain and U.S. All-American on the women's lacrosse team. She completed her M.A. with distinction in Nutrition, Food Studies & Public Health from New York University.

Houston C. Stokes
Prior to joining Summit Park, Mr. Stokes was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Group of BB&T Capital Markets where he worked on numerous buy-side and sell-side M&A, leveraged buyout, and capital markets transactions across various industries.

Mr. Stokes graduated with a B.S. in Finance from the Schools of Business at Wake Forest University.
