Summit Park Attends 2014 IAFP Food Safety Conference and Expo

Summit Park, a Charlotte-based private investment firm with a focus on sectors within the food and beverage industry, attended the International Association for Food Protection conference in Indianapolis last week.
Summit Park is actively seeking to invest in food safety companies with $10‐$100 million in revenue. We believe our team's operational experience in the food processing industry utilizing food safety diagnostic vendors, as well as relevant experience across the food and beverage value chain, gives us a unique and differentiated investment perspective. Diagnostic service providers and product vendors provide a mission critical value proposition to agricultural and food processing companies, which have a very high cost of failure with respect to food safety. The current regulatory climate, including FSMA, coupled with secular perceptions of food safety threats are driving new innovations in food safety diagnostics, particularly within molecular testing in the U.S. We see key trends that are driving the food safety sector as increased demand for pathogen testing, increased incidence of food recalls and import food refusals, and widened USDA "test and hold" procedures.
